Saturday the 31st Golden Nose Award What is the Golden Nose Award? ~ The Finger Lakes Region has long been a producer of award-winning wines. Both domestically and overseas, dozens of wineries win prestigious awards every single year. However it has been over twenty years since a competition has been held specifically between Finger Lakes wineries only. But rather than bringing in a batch of professional tasters to adjudicate which wines are best, we are opting to invite you, the consumers, to judge. After all, what percentage of bottles of wine are sold to wine professionals? Very few. At the end of the day, it is your senses, your palates, and your noses that our wine must please. Thus the Golden Nose Award has been created. Please check out our website often for updates. Call us: (607) 535-8080 Web Site:www.senecalakewine.com

Saturday the 14th Sunday the 15th Keuka Arts Festival The Keuka Arts Festival is a fine arts and skilled craft show that will be held at the Penn Yan Boat Launch and along the Keuka Lake Outlet. The Keuka Arts Festival was once held at Keuka College and was such a missed event of the summer that a group of art lovers decided it was time to revive the festival. The Festival committee’s dream was to see the arts festival meander along the beautiful Keuka Lake Outlet Trail which starts at the boat launch and winds it’s way past historic downtown Penn Yan to end at Seneca Lake. The Outlet Trail is a favorite path for walkers and bicyclists in the summer to enjoy. The festival committee’s vision is that we have vendors and activities along the trail starting at the boat launch and leading to downtown Penn Yan.
The festival staff is putting together a wide variety of artwork and crafts from talented artists and craftsmen. Some of the vendors may include: fine art in a variety of media, jewelry artisans, potters, photographers, quilters, leatherworkers, floral designers, woodworkers, candle makers, gourmet food items, and many other unique crafts available for sale.
There will be a full food court featuring many local restaurants, as well as food vendors along the trail, a wine court, offering samples from some of the area’s favorite wineries, stage entertainment by local performers and musicians, room for over 100 artist exhibitors, and a commemorative poster by a young up and coming area artist. Stop by and I’m sure you will be surprised by how nice a walk along the Outlet Trail can be.
So, we’d love it if you would join us for our 1st Annual Keuka Arts Festival along the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15, 2008 from 10am to 5pm both days.
