The Chamber is comprised of a Board of Directors made up of at least fourteen community leaders. The organization is divided into the following three councils: Economic Development Council (Tourism Committee; Industrial Committee; Workforce Development; Penn Yan Business Association), Community Development Council (Government Action Committee; Community Involvement Committee), and the Organizational Development Council (Membership Committee; Long Range Planning Committee).
Conduct a membership drive/campaign to increase business membership by 50 accounts
Investigate non-dues revenue streams that could help to replace revenues from the health insurance program
Examine committee structure and consider the establishment of specific "teams" whose job it would be to attack the strategic goals.
Identify locations and potential investors for a budget motel project. Enhance current research in terms of demographics and needs assessment to assist development efforts.
Work with the Long Range Planning Committee and the Industrial Development Agency on a retail recruitment strategy to include a written plan and an update of available commercial properties
Continue off/shoulder season activities to drive overnight business, including the enhancement of Finger Lakes Escapes to include more businesses and other industry segments.
Develop a five year master plan for tourism development, to include marketing, advertising, customer service and product development programs.
Involve the organization in the planning process for the Penn Yan Waterfront Development project.
Investigate and implement grant opportunities for park/green space enhancements
Take a leadership role in terms of encouraging activities that would bring municipalities together for the goal of common planning practices regarding housing development on the lakes and county-wide shared services.
Implement the Yates County Tourism Program
Coordinate the activities of the Keuka Wine Trail
Update wage and benefit survey
Conduct annual winery survey
Assist with Celebrate Service, Celebrate Yates
Publish Membership Directory
Publish other community resources
Coordinate Business After Hours Activities
Attend committee and Board meetings
Participate in community events and meetings
